As a wife, mother, and grandmother I consider myself a smart adult. I was simply looking to make some extra money from home, so how did I allow myself to be scammed out of valuable time and money? It was a very expensive lesson that I have learned and I would like to share a little of my story with you.
I had worked in the business world before, but never with an internet opportunity. I had no idea what legitimate home based business opportunities were and figured that since the advertisement was a flyer in the newspaper, it had to be legit because the person was local. After many phone conversations with this person and her “upline,” she finally agreed to meet me(she never even blinked when she told me I would soon be able to buy that beach house I was going to save for). So, I went to a few “rah rah” calls and was sold on the idea that I definitely would make lots of money with them and quickly.
Well, I paid my money, had some training on how to use the “system”, and then was told to buy some leads, call them, go to all the calls, and attend all the conferences (which were not cheap!). I did all of these, and worked feverishly and spent a huge amount of money like I was told was needed in home based business opportunities if you wanted to make money.
Long story short, after almost 3 years of diligently knocking myself out(and almost broke), I finally realized that legitimate home based business opportunities aren’t found easily. This one finally closed its doors leaving many of us out in the cold.
In the last year and a half, I have done a great deal of due diligence, and have finally found a few legitimate home based business opportunities that are on the up and up. Over time, I will share with you some of my research so that when you begin your search for legitimate home based business opportunities, you will be better able to sort them out to find the one that is best suited for you.
