• When adding a picture to an article, blog, or even your website, always use a professional pose. People will relate to that picture and you want to make a good first impression. 
• Branding yourself doesn’t happen overnight and you will want to have a large amount of content online. You have many options for getting content on the internet…writing articles, blogging, and social networking to name a few.
•  Using a unique logo as a header, or at the top of each page will leave a lasting impression that is tied directly to you.
• Always provide value to your readers by offering useful information… even secrets on how you became successful.

As you work to brand yourself, ALWAYS be yourself. People will be able to tell if you are not genuine. Branding yourself will be one of the smartest steps you will take…maybe THE smartest step you will take and will pay off for you in the years to come.

This is Part 2 of Secret #7…helping you take the necessary steps to get what you want in your Journey to Success.

•  NEVER SETTLE FOR LESS: If you can associate enough pain with where you are right now, and so much pleasure and joy from your life as you want to design it, you will take the actions necessary to change it. This takes some real thought to make this work. But, it is VERY powerful. If you want a life change to occur, think long and hard about where you are today. Are you getting all you want? Are you the best you can be? Do you want more? If you’re in the doldrums of life and experience tremendous pain and anguish, this will be a little easier for you to do. Simply create a strong association between where you are and the PAIN it causes you. It will quickly motivate you to work away from the pain and work toward the pleasure zone.
•  IMAGINE AND VISUALIZE: Visualize what your life would be like is you had everything you wanted. Where would you live? What would you be driving? Doing? Where would you travel? What would you wear? Where would you eat? Close your eyes and visualize it in your mind, then rewind it and play it again. Repeat this process daily and visualize where you will be. You can also use physical pictures for the visualization process, also known as dream boards, where you actually paste pictures of things, places, words, etc. that help you create images of what you want your life to be like. Many top people use this strategy to get them where they want to go. When you have strong imagery in your mind, it is very difficult to be mentally weak.
•  CHANGE HOW YOU SEE YOURSELF: If you feel you are weak, shy, timid, or unsuccessful, reinvent yourself. Start today seeing from a new set of eyes, become a resident in a new neighborhood! Be what you want to be, not what you are. Actors do this all the time. It’s exactly what they do. Their careers are based on reinventing themselves. Act the part that you want to play…and start doing it today.
•  STAY FOCUSED: This final step I very simple. You MUST stay centered and totally focused on the task at hand. If you were to play in a tennis match, you focus on the ball. If you are playing in the PGA, your focus is to mentally stay on track. Golfers can’t let their mind slip for even one single shot. Focus totally on success, victory, and winning. There is no other option. Don’t allow anyone to deter you. In the case of mental toughness and network marketing, often your biggest deterrent is generally YOU. Keep your eye on the ball until the game is over.

Powerful Wealth Building Secrets-Secret#7-Success As You Make Your Journey--Part 1  
ENJOY THE JOURNEY---if you think you won’t be happy until you reach financial success, you will be sorely disappointed. If you cannot find happiness where you are… when you are wealthy, you will still be unhappy.
You will experience challenges and or obstacles along the way. This is the first of a 2 part post that will help you take the necessary steps to get what you want in your Journey to Success!

• GETTING IN THE GAME: If you stay in the game and play it with regularity, meaning you’re in the field DOING it, you begin to develop a level of natural toughness that comes with the territory. If you work your business with regularity and are taking consistent daily strides forward, you will naturally begin to develop mental strength. Think about that for a moment. Think in your mind about how a callus is created and the toughness that comes out as a result of it. It works the same way on the mental side.  
• READ AND LISTEN DAILY: Spend at least 30 minutes a day, EVERY DAY reading and/or listening to someone that inspires you toward greatness. If you don’t do this, you are killing yourself, cheating yourself, and robbing yourself of your potential. Don’t mess this up. Focus on working hard on YOU! You Are Worth It!  
• POSITIVE SELF-TALK: Positive emotional statements spoken in the present tense condition the subconscious mind to turn those thoughts into realities. What you speak and think about, you become. 

If you spend time thinking about how bad you are doing and how poor, or unsuccessful you are, you will stay there. On the contrary, if you spend only time using positive daily affirmations that say things like, “I am alive and full of energy” or I am successful and attract powerful, energetic people to my business”, you will become those very things you think and talk about. “I am in the process of earning my biggest month ever”. Write down a series of positive and powerful affirmations that are spoken in the PRESENT TENSE that evoke EMOTION in you. Then, read them daily at least three times. Read them once in the morning, at lunch and prior to going to bed. Train your subconscious mind to make these things a reality, and start doing it today.

While on your journey, remember that we live in a wonderful time when we can be, do, and have whatever we want in life.  On my next post, I will talk about focusing, changing, visualizing, and settling.

S=Self esteem/self confidence…learn all you can about personal development and how you can improve yourself-listen to positive cd’s, read positive books and be careful what you say to yourself out loud. But, when we think fear, discouragement, and failure, that’s what we get. Doubt is your enemy! Always be positive! Bring positive energy to yourself, and all around you! You can’t be a winner if you are a whiner!
U=Uncover the REAL reason you are here…What is YOUR PURPOSE-once you discover what it is—spend each day of your life passionately fulfilling it. Here’s a clue—it’s not just to make $$. Each day you have an opportunity to change lives and create HOPE.
C=Choose wisely the people you hang out with and listen to…resist negative influences—sometimes that might even be someone you love.
C=Consistency……………….80% of success is SHOWING UP!
E=Earn the right to succeed—become an EXPERT……….it is not free—pay the price willingly---the highway to success is a toll road—Success does not come at bargain basement prices.
S=Stay in the game… If you want to win! You can’t hit a homerun if you are sitting in the dugout or on the sofa watching TV. Climb to the top or be found dead on the side of the road. CAUTION: Be careful of the rollercoaster ride. Be like the duck on the water…on the surface the water is smooth, but when you look under the water you are paddling like crazy. When you have a disappointment—it’s not that you fall, it’s how quickly can you get up? Be like a little rubber ball…bounce back FAST! Don’t compare yourself to others...this is a journey.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER give up on YOURSELF, and your dreams.
S=Set HIGH Goals…..high enough to get you EXCITED! Visualize it every day—paint yourself in the picture—taste it, feel it, smell it. (To take advantage of the law of abundance, we must think strength, think health, think riches.)
In order to succeed beyond your wildest expectations—you need some WILD expectations—DREAM BIG! Then have a plan of action to get it done!
F=Free yourself from fear….fear of success, fear of what people think, fear of failure, fear of rejection…the best way to overcome fear is ACTION. You can’t be a winner and be afraid to lose. Be courageous in the battle of fear!
Remember, there is no permanent security on this earth, there is only opportunity! You have the best opportunity on planet earth.
U=Understand what you are doing is a REAL business…..it will take time, training, tenacity, AND OH---did I mention the “m” word? MONEY? Expect some debt in the beginning.
L=Listen well & Laugh often…when you can learn to listen well that will be the difference between you making $50K per year or $50K per month!

• Spend time with the serious rather than the curious. It’s about finding out what people NEED and showing them how they can get it.

Powerful Wealth Building Secrets - Secret # 1- Get Started on Your Journey

It all began 3 years ago when I was semi-retired and had way too much time on my hands. As most of us do when we get antsy and are looking for something to do, I began the search online looking for something to fill in the time space and make some extra money. I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do, so I jumped at the first opportunity I came across.

In my local newspaper I replied to an advertisement for entrepreneurs and a chance to make a fortune easily and quickly. There were even two people who had given their testimonials and one was actually from the same city, so I figured that if I could look her right in the eyes, I would know for sure if the business was legitimate. We met, and I did sign up with her to have my own home business where, according to her, I could work a few hours a week and make lots of money. Well, it wasn’t that easy nor quickly but I am well on my way now and have some Powerful Wealth Building Secrets for the new, aspiring entrepreneur. I know that you can make a substantial amount of money working from home; you just need to know how.

Before you “open the doors” my Powerful Wealth Building Secrets will help you start your journey to being a successful, profitable entrepreneur.

Dedication and Organization of Your Work Space:

•  It is very important to have an area of your home that will be used only to work your business. There will be many distractions ranging from barking dogs to crying babies. The ideal place would be somewhere that is not a high traffic area. A spare bedroom, bonus room above the garage, or maybe a basement that is finished would be ideal. It is also a good idea to have a door that will block out background sounds. The corner of a kitchen, family room, or the dining room table would not be a good idea.
• After you have established where you want to have your office, you will want to make sure you have a desk or sturdy table because this is where you will be spending the majority of your time. Make sure your table or desk is large enough to hold the necessary things that will enable you to be successful as an entrepreneur. You will need room for your computer monitor, printer (fax, scanner,) telephone, and other various items that you can reach at arms length.
•  I have found that having the right desk chair is extremely important. You will need one that has great support and is comfortable and easy to adjust. You will find that there will be nothing worse than having a headache, backache, or a stiff neck from sitting at your desk for hours in an uncomfortable chair.
•  Your phone line should be a dedicated line that is separate from your home phone and used for your business only. It is very unprofessional for a child to answer or a client to be unable to reach you because your older children have tied the line up. By having the separate line, you will avoid the problem of deciphering your bills at tax time so you can determine the amount of time each month your phone was used for business purposes. A phone that has a speaker and a separate handset is ideal. Make sure the handset has a connection for a headset. That way, while you are having a conversation with someone, you can be at your keyboard, or be able to freely move about you desk if you need to find anything.
•  Next, you will need a file cabinet, or other means to keep your files. You may have nothing to file now, but that is all going to change. You will have expenses, bank statements, client information, invoices and such that you can begin filing now rather that trying to backtrack later. This will avoid your spending hours with this task rather than having the time for your business. You will want a wastebasket and possibly a paper shredder. There may be information you will want to shred at some point because of the identity theft problem, and to protect yourself, you want to do everything you can.
•  Now, you want to make your office a place you want to be. You will want to personalize it to suit your tastes. Some people like to have plants, pictures on the walls and even a music source. Remember, this is where you are going to spend many hours and you want it comfortable and personal.

My Powerful Wealth Building Secrets have introduced me to many wonderful leaders in the home business community.  Below you will find just one of those friends.

James Roswell Quinn, a Keynote Speaker and friend of mine, discovered this obscure speech on courage by the late William Penn Patrick, (former CEO of Holiday Magic).  It is now my pleasure to share it with you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have and that you will read it often and share it because we all need COURAGE. If you are a budding entrepreneur or a seasoned entrepreneur, be it in a home business, a brick and mortar business, or working in the traditional employment marketplace: you will find the information below inspiring and helpful.

COURAGE

Why is it that most lives are controlled by small and petty circumstances? I am saddened as I watch people lose the good and the great things that are within their reach, that could be theirs with but a little act of courage. Mediocre, average people are the ones I speak of here.

• These are the people who have so little self-esteem that they cannot trust their own thoughts and judgments, and who, in the final analysis, must rely on outside sources for their decisions.
• These are the people who are ruled by the mob, or who accept all that they read as the truth, and finally become like the mob.
• These are the people who have some degree of success, only when caught upon the crest of a wave that was generated by one of the few, exceptional self-directed individuals.
• These are the people who have a positive attitude for that moment they are in the presence of positive individuals, but when left alone, fall to their negative knees.
•  These are the people who sell their birthright – the commitment to their own thoughts – for fear of what they think their neighbor might think.
• These are the people who stand tall as they are prompted by the actions of the mob, but are terrified of the silence of their own presence.
• These are the people who follow and fear to lead.
• These are the people who hide their deeds in the cloak of nobility, since their dishonesty presents them from dealing with truth and reality.
• These are the people who cry “foul” when life has passed them by.
• These are the people who are ruled by circumstances.

Strong people create circumstances that serve their needs and desires. If you area a person of circumstances, the cure for this disease is courage. Courage is the most beautiful of all human expressions. Courage, as I see it, is an act in the face of fear. We only need courage when we are afraid, which means that we need courage almost all of the time because we are afraid of something almost all of the time.

 I have discovered that fear becomes a coward when faced with but a small act of courage, and further, that the muscle of courage will grow stronger with continued use. My advice to myself is –Do those things which you fear, and keep doing them until you are no longer afraid. Then you will become the master of your fate.
 I have studied the deeds of people both great and small. In this study there appear to be many differences. But all the differences that count have one single thing at their base – Courage.
 Courage is that one ingredient that separates the strong from the weak, the successful from the unsuccessful, and the great from the average. All the things you desire in life have one common handle that is made for the hand of the person of courage.

To be afraid is to be alive.  To act against that fear is to be a Leader.  Someone once said, "I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees."

Now that your office is under control, let’s organize your day for Success!

  Remember – you don’t have to spend a lot – to make a lot! Not today -- Not with the Internet.

Ok, your office is in the process of being organized for quick access to information that will help you be successful in a time efficient manner. Let me be the first to Congratulate you on setting it up in a way that you know where your tasks, contact list, open items, follow-up categories, finances, and of course marketing and advertising schedules are so you can clearly analyze profitable ads and marketing vs. those that do not perform.

I believe you are ready to begin your daily work schedule commitments in the comfort of your own “home office.”

Since you will be working from home, it is very important to your success to make sure you have specific times scheduled for your business.

Decide which hours of the day you will be working your business. Schedule it in your weekly planner and you may want to use a highlighter to target those specific times.

You must commit and spend those hours doing the activities that will bring you income. Your daily formula for success should include at a minimum specific times that are for calling and/or talking to people face to face (networking). In your, “downtime”, which can be more important than a personal touch including but not limited to: advertising with ad words, internet marketing through Google, Yahoo, AOL, etc., blogging, updating social networking sites, personal branding, and of course on-going learning of new techniques for growing your business.

Which leads me to a question....

Someone has to do the work to earn the reward whether you outsource it or not. Basically - then your time vs. income ratio does a huge 360 very fast – if you plan it right.

Respecting work hours!

This last tip may sound as if it doesn’t need to be said, but, you MUST let your family and friends know they have to respect your work hours. There are many folks that don’t realize that when you work from home it is challenging -- you can’t be interrupted just because they (a friend, family, neighbor, sales person, etc.) want to chat…that is, not if you want to be successful. You can’t do laundry, clean, vacuum etc. You must think of your office, while at home, as “an out-side office of your home”. We will cover this in the next series..."How to do business in your home, while maintaining the executive leadership you deserve as a professional in your field and working from your home!"

Have a meeting with your family and come up with some rules. Even though you are home, you cannot be interrupted except for certain situations; which have been decided in advance. Remember, if you make plans with family or friends; make sure it is written down in your weekly planner so that you won’t have to disappoint them due to a scheduling conflict.

You and your family need to recognize that you have to delegate necessities of the family, house-hold chores, etc. just like you would if you had a commute every day. You cannot be available all the time even though you are NOW working from home. You need to clearly state – THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THERE IS NO COMMUTE! For many, the hours of an executive or owner of a business are long. For those who succeed, the hours and tasks are much more difficult; require on-going supervision and much more to be profitable. The hours normally for many are longer – and much more difficult.

Has anyone ever told you that? Or just said – it is easy – do it from home and be a millionaire!!! I tell the truth – that is why I have a great group of entrepreneurs, like-minded, honest and trusting people I can not only call colleagues, clients – but FAMILY! Help your family, spouse, children, roommate, etc. to understand that you have a home business and they need to respect your commitment to it.

Realize that you can’t please everyone all of the time. Most families find the more successful a home-business entrepreneur gets; the harder it is on the family – until the other person can retire and join in.

Just like location, location, location -- is to Real Estate…
